Umm. Excuse me waiter but there's a snail in my soup!

O.K. - I'll try anything once. I pride myself on being adventerous when it comes to trying new food. I just wasn't prepared for this today. But let's dive in. Because of some minor food allergies I am afflicted with, if you're trying something new on me and you ever want to dine together again in the future -PLEASE- if I go into anaphylactic shock do me the favor of calling 911. Thankfully my reactions are usually minor.

Hien Pham is a gracious host. I've had Vietnamese food many times before today but this was new to me. He recommended this dish. By his description, I thought mussels were on tap, but as it turned out it was escargot in a spicy soup made with coconut milk. While I wouldn't avidly seek it out again, if it's ever offered again I wouldn't be as apt to shy away from it.

Hien said that in his culture this food is served to teens sometimes as a rite of passage - to teach them how to kiss. I'm pretty confident in my skills in that department - no comments please - but I guess a refresher could never hurt anyone.

Another restaurant down the street from ours - How did they get away with naming this restaurant thusly?

No They Di'nt!

hello I' came back
and when I saw the picture I wanna run
now I understand when you wanna call at 911 are you inside in shock? with that dish I don`t think so but if you have time to write that means that you survived thru the adventure of extreme sports. Like vienanmis food. I see it wasn`t nececry to call 911. Ok, but now tell me is this your hobie? Or is it your favorite extreme sport. I`m sorry for your stomache. Well it`s like it occures you an accident, and you live to tell me. When I saw those little creatures on plate I thought you were a real heroe of the cuisine. You`re a expert gourmet tester. after that I hope I don`t have a nightmare with snails involed. Now I know that you guys are a real team Hien Pham.like don quijote de la mancha y sancho panza. Meit`s hard to ask what type of medication to ask for in the pharmacy. I still remember my first dish of vientamese it looked like alien soup. the second round even though it looked strange it didn`t matter it was delicious I think I made my self addicted to the soup. also the owner of the resturant is going to have to do some serious alien hunting because I`m going to finish it all.So tell me who survived the feeling of it.Without having serious problems. Don`t worry no your elegent. This dish is very common in the best resturants in France.
